Trump Shows More Sympathy For Ghislaine Maxwell Than Virus Victims At Briefing

Trump offered warm words of support to Jeffrey Epstein sex crime accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell during what was supposed to be a coronavirus briefing.
Trump said, “I don’t know. I haven’t been following it too much I just wish her well I’ve met her numerous times over the years especially since I lived in Palm Beach I guess they lived in Palm. I wish her well. I don’t know the situation with Prince Andrew. Just don’t know. Not aware of it.”
Trump spent one sentence talking about coronavirus victims at the beginning of his press briefing, but he felt compelled to give an entire answer of support to Ghislaine Maxwell, who acquired underage girls for Jeffrey Epstein to rape.

Trump is a Misogynistic Asshole
Apparently neither he nor anyone on his campaign knows much about suburban women.
Let me help: “Housewife” may have been a popular term in the 1950s (which, it seems, is approximately when Trump imagines America was at its greatest — pre-civil rights, pre-women’s rights, pre-globalization) — but, for decades, it has been a condescending term that denigrates women who choose not to leave the house for work. (I’m old enough to remember when Republicans used to claim Democrats did not respect women who did not work outside the home.)
Trump’s screeching tone comically attempts to scare women, imagining they are easily frightened and susceptible to crude political manipulation and racist dog whistles (“destroy neighborhoods” is code for bringing the “wrong people” into the neighborhood).
Nothing in Trump’s appeal remotely addresses what does alarm women: the unchecked spread of coronavirus; an economic collapse; Trump bullying them to send kids back to school during a pandemic; Trump-directed clashes between police and demonstrators; and Trump’s constant attempts to inflame racial animosity. It is not former vice president Joe Biden who inspires fear and dread; it is Trump who raises their blood pressure and creates havoc in their lives.
Trump’s promise to make things better raises an awkward problem for his reelection effort: Aren’t things much worse than when he took over? He is pitching to women whose children’s education has been disrupted, whose family finances are less secure, and who fear for their health and for the health of their families.
His tweet, reminiscent of his “I alone can fix it” line from 2016 reminds many women of his know-it-all attitude and exaggerated sense to worth and accomplishment. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) recently said that Trump is like the guy who will not ask for directions. Now, we see Trump as the guy who passes a cognitive assessment test and thinks he is a genius. He is a caricature of male ego and bluster many women have confronted their entire lives.
White women, college-educated women, suburban women, non-college-educated women — really any cross section of women you come up with — like Trump less than their male counterparts. As a whole, Trump’s support among women has cratered since 2016, especially but not exclusively among white, college-educated women.

POSOTUS Says He Will Defund Schools If They Don't Open During Raging Pandemic
Determined to reopen America’s schools despite coronavirus worries, President Donald Trump threatened on Wednesday to hold back federal money if school districts don’t bring their students back in the fall. He complained that his own public health officials’ safety guidelines are impractical and too expensive.
Shortly afterward, Vice President Mike Pence announced that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention would be issuing new guidance next week “that will give all new tools to our schools.” The advice will keep students safe, he said, but “the president said today we just don’t want the guidance to be too tough. ”
Despite Trump’s increased his pressure on state and local officials, New York City announced that most of its students would return to classrooms only two or three days a week and would learn online in between. “Most schools will not be able to have all their kids in school at the same time,” said Mayor Bill de Blasio.

The Pentagon & cabinet presented him with many options:

-a demand that they stop offering bounties for murder of US troops
-an escalating series of sanctions
-Trump has refused to say or do anything.
Trump stood in front of the West Point graduates after forcing their families to risk their health. He knew that Putin, who owns his debt via Deutsche Bank, was paying Islamic militants for murdering US troops. He gave his speech and did nothing.
Well, that's not actually fair. Trump did a few things after learning Putin was paying for dead US troops in Afghanistan. He lobbied other countries for Russia to be let back into the G7. He also talked to Putin June 1. Days later he signed off on a plan to permanently withdraw up to 1/3 of the approx 34k U.S. troops currently based in Germany. Which is part of Putin's dream of dismantling NATO. DT never told Germany he was going to do this. Oh, and in May he withdrew from the Open Skies treaty, like Putin wanted.
Trump did Putin's bidding in Syria this year. He abandoned our Kurdish allies to slaughter. They fought by our side and died bc they trusted our leadership. He then handed over a US military base in Syria to Russian soldiers, to the delight of Russian news media.
Remember Helsinki? He groveled before Putin & asserted that Russia didn't interfere in the US election? And he trusts Vlad over all US military intelligence? "He just said it's not Russia. Then, days later, said he wasn't being servile to Putin and we all just didn't understand what he said? Well in May 2020, on a phone call with V/Putin, Trump told him the investigation into Russian interference in the election was a "hoax." Again, he chose Putin over US military intelligence. He had known about Putin's bounty on the heads of US troops for almost 2 months.
But even during the period where DT officially accepted the Russian attack on our election he:
-still wouldn't hold them accountable
-refused to take any action on Russian interference in our next election.
-turned a blind eye to the growing Russian cyber action in the U.S.
But this thread isn't about Putin; or Trump's corruption, racism, ignorance, his record of sexual assaults, his incompetence, or the vast amount of things he's been wrong about. This is just about his despicable treatment of the US Armed Forces.
-He said "our military is a joke" in a 2016 debate w/HRC -He fired Lt Col Vindman for doing his duty

-He made our military stand down & watch allies be slaughtered & our base overrun

But there's no greater proof of his indifference to the troops he uses as props than what happened in Niger. On 10/4/17 4 US service members died in Niger. It took Trump 12 days to comment publicly on the soldiers’ deaths. And when he was finally asked about the deaths at a press conference, he deflected by falsely accusing President Obama of never calling the families of soldiers killed in the line of duty. This was a really dumb lie, but debunking the lie became a bigger media narrative than why those men died, or why Trump lied.

And then there's Trump's other Benghazi, in Yemen. A brutally tragic raid that killed 3 special forces members & 30 civilians, 10 of whom were women & children. Trump can hug a flag & hold up a Bible & tear gas nonviolent protestors he calls "thugs" and a certain kind of authoritarian need is met for millions of ppl.
Trump is a confidence artist. He conned contractors, casino bondholders, Trump U students, Trump Foundation Donors, 3 wives, and, in 2016, 62 million easy marks. He says what they want to hear and he is given blind obedience & loyalty. Don't let it make you crazy.
I love my conservative friends & loved ones. But in lifetime I've seen them be really wrong about:
-Nixon -Vietnam -Reaganomics -AIDS -LGBT rights -Iran Contra -Impeaching Clinton -Bush's tax plan economics -Iraq WMDs -being greeted as liberators -Sarah Palin -Drug War (39) -Obama's birth certificate -that Obamacare had death panels -that Obamacare would add to the deficit -that Trump gave a damn act the military. That's not to say Dems haven't been wrong about things too. But being wrong is different from being destructive and evil.
Never forget how Trump clowned around during the National Anthem before the 2020 superbowl. He didn't know he was being filmed and it's all you need to know about him. Google it if you haven't seen the video. Kaepernick never deliberately mocked the anthem.

Trump's Atrocious Calls to Foreign Leaders Threaten National Security
In hundreds of highly classified phone calls with foreign heads of state, President Donald Trump was so consistently unprepared for discussion of serious issues, so often outplayed in his conversations with powerful leaders like Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Erdogan, and so abusive to leaders of America's principal allies, that the calls helped convince some senior US officials -- including his former secretaries of state and defense, two national security advisers and his longest-serving chief of staff -- that the President himself posed a danger to the national security of the United States, according to White House and intelligence officials intimately familiar with the contents of the conversations.
The calls caused former top Trump deputies -- including national security advisers H.R. McMaster and John Bolton, Defense Secretary James Mattis, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, and White House chief of staff John Kelly, as well as intelligence officials -- to conclude that the President was often "delusional," as two sources put it, in his dealings with foreign leaders.
The sources said there was little evidence that the President became more skillful or competent in his telephone conversations with most heads of state over time. Rather, he continued to believe that he could either charm, jawbone or bully almost any foreign leader into capitulating to his will, and often pursued goals more attuned to his own agenda than what many of his senior advisers considered the national interest.
These officials' concerns about the calls, and particularly Trump's deference to Putin, take on new resonance with reports the President may have learned in March that Russia had offered the Taliban bounties to kill US troops in Afghanistan -- and yet took no action. CNN's sources said there were calls between Putin and Trump about Trump's desire to end the American military presence in Afghanistan but they mentioned no discussion of the supposed Taliban bounties.
By far the greatest number of Trump's telephone discussions with an individual head of state were with Erdogan, who sometimes phoned the White House at least twice a week and was put through directly to the President on standing orders from Trump, according to the sources.
Meanwhile, the President regularly bullied and demeaned the leaders of America's principal allies, especially two women: telling Prime Minister Theresa May of the United Kingdom she was weak and lacked courage; and telling German Chancellor Angela Merkel that she was "stupid."
Trump incessantly boasted to his fellow heads of state, including Saudi Arabia's autocratic royal heir Mohammed bin Salman and North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un, about his own wealth, genius, "great" accomplishments as President, and the "idiocy" of his Oval Office predecessors, according to the sources. In his conversations with both Putin and Erdogan, Trump took special delight in trashing former Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama and suggested that dealing directly with him -- Trump -- would be far more fruitful than during previous administrations. "They didn't know BS," he said of Bush and Obama -- one of several derisive tropes the sources said he favored when discussing his predecessors with the Turkish and Russian leaders.
